County of San Diego As-Needed Construction Management Services


Project Synopsis
CPM Partners provided construction management services to San Diego County Department of Public Works Construction Engineering Section as
part of the 5-year As-Needed Countywide Construction Management (CM) services contract for non-federally funded projects.

The County utilizes consultant personnel to supplement and augment its existing staff in the contract administration, construction management and inspection of capital improvements projects. The County capital improvement projects generally include road maintenance and resurfacing, new roadway reconstruction, bike lanes and pathways, traffic signals, intersection improvements, sidewalks, drainage improvements, bridge construction, and wastewater and flood control improvements.

Services Provided
CPM Partners provided consultant personnel to perform Resident Engineer, Assistant Resident Engineer, and Construction Inspector or field support duties on an as-needed basis. Specific work tasks for which CPM personnel will be responsible include on-site monitoring of construction to ensure compliance with the contract documents, applicable permits, federal, state, and local safety regulations, preparation of daily inspection reports, preparation of Weekly Statement of Working Days, CPM schedule reviews, maintenance of project documents including correspondence, contract change orders, quantity calculation sheets, progress payments, verification of prevailing wage payments, coordination of third-party testing and surveying, and review and approval of submittals, coordination of third-party testing, inspection, and surveying, coordination with other agencies and the public, providing assistance in the review and analysis of potential claims, preparation of final reports and review of as-built drawings.
