SANDAG – San Onofre Pulgas Double Track Ph-1
Project Synopsis
CPM Partners, as a sub-consultant, provided construction management support services to SANDAG on the San Onofre to Pulgas Double Track Stage 1 project.
The San Onofre to Pulgas Double Track project consists of two stages where a total of 5.8 miles of second mainline rail track will be added to the Los Angeles-San Diego-San Luis Obispo (LOSSAN) coastal rail line within the U.S. Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton. The first stage of construction will create an initial 4.2-mile stretch of second track from San Onofre State Park to just north of Las Pulgas Road. This $19 million project consists of construction of a of second main track between existing Control Point (CP) San Onofre and a new cross over at new CP Don. Work includes grading, earthwork, culvert extensions, replacement of wooden trestle bridge with triple cell box culvert, shifting track, signal improvements, retaining walls at the Agra freeway overhead, erosion control, and re-vegetation.
Services Provided
CPM Partners provided CPM Scheduling, claims avoidance, and as-needed construction management support. Specific CPM Scheduling duties included reviewing the Contractor’s baseline and monthly schedule update submissions for conformance with project specifications including FAWW and AWW work sequencing; providing the client with recommendations to correct schedule deficiencies and meeting with the contractor and the client to expedite schedule acceptance.
