Construction Project Management

Now 8(a) Certified

Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

- World Commission on Environment and Development (WCED)

We know that the environmental impact of the construction industry is significant. There is an increasing demand, in both the private and public sectors, not only to understand but also to implement sustainable construction practices.

What is Green Building?

Green building is the careful design, construction, operation, and reuse or removal of the built environment in an environmentally, energy-efficient, and sustainable manner. Design decisions made at the beginning of a project have significant long-term effects. Green building requires a life-cycle perspective. Early on in the planning stages, careful consideration needs to be given to the operation and maintenance stages and the end-of-life environmental impacts and costs – as these costs, in the long term, will most typically outweigh the initial costs.

Green Building Makes Good Business Sense And It’s The Right Thing To Do

There is no doubt that thinking and building green makes us desirable to clients that are more than ever before desiring to build green - In this regard it makes good business sense. But, that aside, we strongly believe that as A/E/C professionals, we have an ethical obligation to help minimize the environmental impacts of construction. We are committed to take an active role and work together as a team to achieve a “sustainable” construction practice.
